Dear President Trump, Congress, and the US Senate: you’re all talk and no action…

Dear President Trump, Congress, and US Senate:

The people are fed up. We are fed up with the political gridlock. And we are fed up with your inability to pass legislation that helps alleviate the concerns of the average American. If a citizen of this country were to accomplish – or not accomplish – what you have since January 2017, we would have been fired from our jobs.

It’s sad that it took an elected official getting shot to get you to realize that your political partisan rhetoric was causing irreparable harm to our country. The violence isn’t just liberals attacking conservatives. There are conservatives attacking liberals, too. Families are divided. Friends no longer speak. It’s become “us vs. them.”

Every single one of you, regardless of party affiliation, contributed to the condition our country is in right now – via action or inaction.  Now that you’re finally preaching unity, it’s time the citizens hold you accountable to your “promises” for unity.

We are #UnifyUsNow, and we encourage citizen advocacy and political advocacy. Our mission is to facilitate a national conversation which focuses on dialogue – not division. #UnifyUsNow engages citizens and elected officials willing to respectfully listen to views and ideas that may differ from their own, with the intent to find common ground and encourage compromise, creating ideas and actions to break partisan extremism and influence positive change.

You know, the exact opposite of the behavior you are all exhibiting right now!

We support candidates regardless of party affiliation, who are willing to engage in dialogue to find common ground, compromise and take action, based on the voices and ideas of the people. If candidates don’t exist we will work with citizens and organizations who support the #UnifyUsNow mission to find potential candidates.

We are citizens with various backgrounds, beliefs, and party affiliations who believe in dialogue and compromise to stop partisan extremism. And we are the majority of voters in this country. 42% of registered voters identify as independents. Most of them want a 3rd voice at the table, one that is more moderate and more inclusive.

For example: we want our healthcare costs to come down, but not at the expense of fellow citizens losing their healthcare coverage.

We invite all citizens and elected officials, regardless of party affiliation, to respectfully join us in a dialogue. Because our problems will continue to exist until all sides learn to work together to solve the tough problems facing average Americans.

So if you’re really serious about ending the gridlock, sign-up to get involved. We look forward to hearing your solutions for change and engaging in a respectful dialogue with you – to #UnifyUsNow!
